Ink linking to blog instead of comic?

    Hey Brian,

Twice now that I've noticed, it seems like Ink Outbreak is linking to my current blog for Zombie Ranch for the week rather than our current comic for the week. I'm not sure why that's happening, and while it's flattering to get the blog traffic, I figure what's more than likely happening in most of these cases is going to be someone clicking expecting a comic, seeing just a bunch of words, and then leaving. Not what we want to happen!

This particular referral is the latest culprit: http://inkoutbreak.com/inker.php?comic=d81ebc38b265b6a7b4803f083e526883

Any ideas on what's happening and how to fix it?

This can happen if your blog links into your RSS. This can be annoying for readers who are in the story, but its a plus for people doing blog updates about merch / other projects.... /shrug

I may do something in the future where you can disable it.

Hm, if it's an RSS issue maybe I'll try scheduling the comic to publish a minute after the blog. Looking back on the posts it seems like it's only happening when the blog ends up being the most "recent" entry.

Tried the above and it seems to be referring correctly now. Thanks!

I went looking for a thread like this because I'm having this issue, but a bit more problematic.

I test things out by searching for my comic on this site (just searching "Steak" brings it up, clicking on the name it comes up with, and it's showing a blog link from two days ago, despite there being a blog today along with a new comic. In my RSS feed, the newest addition to the website is the new comic.

Furthermore - I have disabled the blogs from showing up on the front page, so that it's comic only. I did this just today.

Any help in getting the latest comic (and only comics) showing up in the inkoutbreak rotation would be appreciated.

Joe, are you using WordPress? If you are, you can use the RSS feed that is specific to a category... Read about it here.

Heh, yes. WordPress is crazy-flexible once you start digging into it (I'm a WordPress developer). It's not Drupal-flexible but it does an amazing amount of stuff that isn't readily apparent at first glance.

Exactly what I was looking for it seems.

Now that's working, I can get back to drawing.
