    Hello!

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is
Dan and I’ve been posting web comics for about four
years now. Vanguard is my first foray into taking on both the writing
and art duties on a title.

What's Vanguard about? It's set in the near future, telling the story of a small team of genetically engineered meta-humans who defend the United Kingdom's interests at home and abroad.

What's the web address? Why, its www.VanguardComic.com

Come take a read and I'm sure you'll enjoy!

    Regards,

    Dan

    Nice!!
As a British webcomic creator (though living not far from Los Angeles), I have to say it always gives me a warm glow in the feels, when I see new British webcomics appear.
Over this past few years, I've always looked to my home country and wondered why more comic artists are not getting into the online comic world. I know the talent is there, and it's good to see it appear and shine.

There are a few us online - Manchester Nova/OMGLN. I'm planning on getting my ass to the London MCM to try meet more comic people. Not been to a comic convention in years! Should be fun.

Do you write/draw comics yourself? I would click your username and find out, but I'm on my bloody IPhone at the mo, which is useless for surfing.

Yeah, I created and draw Geeks - the Comic Strip (www.geeksthecomicstrip.com). I have some other projects in the pipeline, as well.

I always wondered about the UK webcomic scene, as none of the big guns (Penny Arcade, PVP, etc) never bothered with the idea of appearing at any UK shows, and the small number of UK based webcomics made me wonder if the scene there was growing or was stagnant.
With the ability to do webcomics getting easier and easier, I always questioned why more British talent wasn't stepping forward to make their mark.

Well, I'm Welsh- Born in Pembrokeshire- but living in the US, so not sure if that counts as being a British artist.
I try to incorporate some Welsh elements into my comic, mostly the names of people and cities as I find the language lends itself well to the setting I'm using.

I like your character profiles, and how you went into their history. Good things are ahead for you, I think.

That counts perfectly. I was born and raised in Stoke-on-Trent, spent six years in Sheffield, and have now been living in and around the Los Angeles boundaries for the past twelve years.

Thanks for the comment. Wanted to get the readers straight into it, hence the bios at the start. Hit the ground running with pre-established characters with Luke/Spitfire there to guide the readers into it.
